Storyline:
Academic freedom is being suppressed, says Ben Stein. He contends that professors from around the United States are being fired from their jobs for promoting, or even exploring the possibility of, intelligent design as an alternative to Darwinism. Stein interviews the expelled academics and other supporters of intelligent design. He also interviews the scientists in the mainstream, who support Darwinism. Stein links Darwinism to Nazism, Communism, eugenics and abortion. Vintage clips of educational films and Hollywood movies are used to illustrate points in a satirical way.

It takes just as much a leap of faith to believe in Evolution and/or the nonexistence of God as it does to believe in intelligent design (not necessarily creationism) and/or the existence of God. I saw this movie at a preview and thought it put forth many good points about the intellectually DARING leaps the evolutionist camp makes to support it's argument. It is good to point out that amoebas from mud have never been reproduced in a laboratory, the constitution protects the free exercise of religion and prohibits the firing of individuals because of their religion. What this movie talks about, is the arrogance of academia to assume that the evolutionary theory is a law, rather than holding it out to prove it first. Social darwinism/ nazi germany is also discussed. If you have put your faith in evolutionism and have bet your soul that there is no God, you will hate this movie. If otherwise, you may actually learn something, God forbid

I've been looking forward to this movie. Not to promote creationism, but to challenge evolution. So many take evolution as fact, when it is just a theory. It's a shame if people are be "weeded-out" because they question a theory. After the movie, read "Darwin On Trial" by Philipp Johnson. It really explains the flaws in the evolutionary theory.

I got a "sneak peek" to see the movie early - and WOW - it exceeded my expectations! I believe it's best suited for anyone over age 10 -- and adults who are history buffs will love it. Anyone who loves this country and values our personal freedoms should see it!

It's sad- tolerance is now defined as "if you are saying something/doing something that I don't agree with - I must "tolerate" you". It does not work if you are conservative, character filled and OM "believe in God"- then you are treated awful, direspectfully and no tolerance is given for your beliefs. Talk about reverse discrimination!!! I will be nice to hear the "other side" for once- I bet Hollywood is shaking, knowing that there are those of us who do believe in creation and God and are not crass, rude and threatening others futures. This is the United States of America where all are allowed to believe in and worship in freedom. Wake up people the small few are trying to bully us into silence, ruin us and soon we will be a communist country at this pace. Fight for your freedoms to express- even if they are against the "populous"!!!

Without being pretentious, Ben Stein interviews top proponents for Evolutionary theory and top ranking scientists who propose Intelligent Design. He exposes how one idea is suppressed in the media and culture which stunts scientific development of ideas and debate is censored. It is a moving argument that he lays out for the audience. It is irreverent at times, quirky but in the end Stein gives ample opportunity for both sides to make their point. The movie isn't a boring, long winded do***entary and is fun to debate with friends afterwards. I highly recommend this movie
